Europe’s main robotics research forum comes to the UK for the first time, with more than 1,000 researchers, robot makers and end users at the ICC Birmingham from 2 to 4 March 2027.

The European Robotics Forum has moved around Europe since 2010. This edition is hosted by the Manufacturing Technology Centre and the University of Birmingham, working with euRobotics.

It’s a more technical event than the big NEC shows. Most of the 3 days are workshops and a scientific track, where engineers and researchers show what’s coming out of labs and pilot lines over the next few years.

There’s an exhibition alongside, with around 12 stands so far from robot makers, component suppliers and research spin-outs. KUKA is on stand 46, and the sponsors include PAL Robotics, Ocado Group, autonox Robotics and ARIA, the UK’s research funding agency.

Go if you want an early look at where industrial robotics and AI are heading, or you’re after a research partner for a tricky application. If you need a cell installed this year, you’ll probably get more from talking to integrators in the supplier directory.

European Robotics Forum 2027 FAQs

When and where is the European Robotics Forum 2027?
2 to 4 March 2027 at the ICC Birmingham, side events included. The welcome reception is on the evening of 2 March, so that’s the day to arrive if you’re networking.
How much does it cost?
A day pass is £220 + VAT if you book by 1 December 2026, then £310 + VAT. It isn’t cheap, so pick the day whose workshops match the problem you’re trying to solve.
Is it worth it for a manufacturer rather than a researcher?
Yes, if you’re planning 2 or 3 years ahead or stuck on an application nobody off the shelf can solve. For buying a standard palletiser or welding cell, a trade show is the better use of a day.
Can I just visit the exhibition?
There’s an exhibition-only pass, but it’s for students and hasn’t opened yet. Everyone else needs a day pass or full ticket.
